I can't stop it, I can't kill it, I can only fight it, and I'm getting tired.
Every night is another fight, another confrontation, another chance to die, but I don't have a choice. I have the scepter, I am a Harlequin, keeping the jester from killing others by drawing it into my own dreams is my responsibility, my duty. I thought I could handle it for as long as it took, but I was wrong. The cracks are starting to show, and all it takes is one slip, one wrong move, and not only will the jester kill me, it'll start killing other people again, and all my efforts will have been for nothing.
The worst part is the Circus is still out there, still hiding and operating from the shadows. I don't know what their ultimate goal is, but I know they want the scepter, and every day that ticks by the odds they'll strike increase. I don't know what to do. I'm exhausted. But this can't continue. Something's gotta give, and if this keeps up, it's going to be me.
